As part of our mission to serve others in our community who are in need, we collect items that our partner organizations need to do their work.

School Supply Drive for Next Door (August 5 – September 8)
From August 5 through September 8, we will be collecting school supplies for Next Door (2545 N. 29th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53210). You may bring supplies to church and put them in the basket or on the metal rack at the back of the church.

Doing the most important work in Milwaukee! Every child deserves a strong start to life no matter the circumstances they are born into. At Next Door, our team works hard to ensure under-resourced children in Milwaukee get a strong start to life through high-quality, personalized early childhood education. Next Door serves nearly 1,400 children a year from birth to five years old through two center-based sites, a home visitation program, and 11 partnership sites in Milwaukee County. We focus on getting children ready for school with academic and social-emotional learning, behavioral, disability, and mental health support services, and medical and dental care – all at no cost to our families.

In addition, Next Door provides family advocates to support parents with community resources in areas like housing, employment, and food. Next Door also works with expectant mothers in a home-based prenatal services program.

Ongoing Collection for Kinship Community Food Center
Each Sunday St. Mark’s collects non-perishable food items for the Kinship Community Food Center. Please bring in nutritional items of food and deposit them in a basket at the rear of the church. This month the center would like:

  • Cooking oil (olive, avocado, canola)
  • Stock (chicken, beef, veggie)
  • Fruit (shelf-stable juice, apple sauce pouches, canned pineapple).

The total food we collected in June and July for Kinship was 73 pounds and it was delivered on August 9.

Upcoming Collection Drives
We have collection drives planned for the next few months. We will collect socks in October and winter clothing/coats in November, both for The Gathering. In December, we will collect disposable and reusable diapering and period supplies for the Milwaukee Diaper Mission. Stay tuned for details about those collection drives.
